Research Impact

Editorial leaderships

Several faculty members currently serve as Associate Editors or Section Editors for leading international journals in educational psychology, child development, and early childhood education. These roles involve overseeing manuscript review processes, making editorial decisions, and ensuring the scholarly quality and relevance of publications in their assigned domains.

Faculty from the Center serve as Associate Editors for high-impact journals in psychology, education, and child development, such as the Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology, Asian Pacific Journal of Education, Early Childhood Research Quarterly, the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships. These appointments reflect international recognition of their expertise and provide valuable platforms to shape the direction of developmental and educational research globally.

These editorial roles not only reflect individual scholarly accomplishments but also position the Center as a regional hub for academic publishing and international collaboration. Faculty members help ensure that research from Macao and the Greater Bay Area is represented in global academic discourse and that local scholars gain access to international publication channels.

Keynotes & Invited Lectures

Faculty members have been invited to deliver keynote speeches at high-profile international conferences in the fields of early childhood education, developmental psychology, and educational research. These invitations reflect their scholarly recognition and leadership across regional and global academic communities.

Faculty frequently present as invited speakers in symposia organized by global research associations such as AERA, SRCD, ISSBD, and EARLI. These presentations often focus on emerging findings from their funded projects, particularly related to child development, classroom assessment, and parent-child interactions.

Faculty have also been invited to speak at forums organized by government agencies and NGOs in Macao and mainland China, particularly in the areas of child well-being, inclusive education, and family-school collaboration. At a forum hosted by the Education and Youth Development Bureau of Macao, a faculty member gave a featured lecture on how to apply psychological research to support children’s mental health in post-pandemic classrooms.

Leadership in organizations

Several faculty members hold leadership positions in internationally recognized associations in the fields of psychology, education, and child development, such as the board members of the Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC), the leadership position in the Chinese Society of Education. These roles include executive committee memberships, section chairs, and coordinators for regional chapters or special interest groups.

These leadership engagements demonstrate the Center’s strong institutional presence and influence across multiple academic and professional ecosystems, both in Macao and internationally. The faculty’s service not only supports disciplinary growth but also facilitates the integration of research, policy, and practice in education and psychology.
